RESIDENCIES

Individual artist residencies are available throughout the year at Oehme Graphics, from 1-4 weeks in length. Residencies will be awarded by a jury appointed by the Director to applicants who successfully demonstrate a need for working space at the print studio and have a strong, consistent portfolio of primarily print-based work. The decisions of the jury will be final each year. If not accepted, applicants are allowed to reapply in subsequent years.

– Cover letter (include first, second and third choice month availability)
– Resume/ CV
– Essay of proposed project, be specific and include needed materials list, along with 20 jpegs of related work (labeled with artist name, title, size, medium, date, price)
– 3 letters of recommendation from gallerists, artists, or other art professionals; any relevant press or writings.
– $50 non-refundable administrative application fee.

Deadlines:

December 31 for residencies during the months of April – September; June 30 for residencies during the months of October – March

The cost for the residency will depend on the length of stay (1 week = M-F):

1 week- $1500/ 2 weeks – $2800/ 3 weeks – $4100/ 4 weeks – $5400

Awarded artist residents will be allocated one to four weeks at the studio, including some materials (except plates and paper) as well as housing in the upstairs apartment and lunches. Residents will have use of the large press for the day other than from 12-5pm. They are allowed to utilize the artist studio area for the entire day. In addition, they will receive one hour of collaborative planning/printing time with the master printer each working day, and will have the opportunity to utilize the staff for a small hourly fee. At the end of the residency, Oehme Graphics will choose up to one half of the finished pieces to be consigned and for sale, with 50% commission going to the artist.
