Sari Davidson is an artist based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado whose work focuses on imagery from nature in an attempt to illuminate the depth, beauty, serenity, and breath found in the natural world. Her recent work includes a series of portraits of crisply painted butterflies surrounded by soft flowers and foliage as well as a large scale monoprint of flowers blowing in the wind titled “Windy Ridge 2.” All of the pieces are crafted using carefully cut stencils, painted with watercolor and printed with either watercolor or Akua ink backgrounds. Her use of stencils helps to define the spatial relationship and edges of objects in both the foreground and the background.
