About

SARAH KLAHN

This new work is the product of a lifetime of making art as well as looking at art—in museums, studios and galleries.  My family moved often when I was young, but one constant was art classes either at school or at the local museum, which helped ground me and open my eyes to various mediums and techniques.  The ever-changing landscapes in each new place we lived or visited became an important memory tag for my experiences as well as emotions and provide a jumping off point for my art.  Using a variety of printmaking techniques, including dry point, silk aquatint, collagraph, and photopolymer intaglio, I create artwork reflecting elements of landscapes in the Rocky Mountains and the Great Lakes that have special significance to me, with the intention of invoking wonder of the natural beauty in the observer.

Sarah Klahn lives in Denver, Colorado and still works as a lawyer when she’s not making prints.  Her work has been displayed in juried shows at  the Remarque Gallery in Albuquerque, and Core Space Gallery and the Arts Students’ League in Denver.  Her work is in private and public collections in Colorado and California.
