JUDY WOLGAST
Judy Wolgast began her printmaking career after attending a class at Maryland Hall in Annapolis in 1991. She initially created landscape etchings of historical architecture and sites around Annapolis. After moving to the Eastern Shore, Judy turned to the natural landscapes that surround our area focusing on the creeks, marshes and water trails.
Judy produces her prints using zinc plates through a method called Intaglio. She can make 50 prints from each plate, and each print can take anywhere from one week to two months to create. In the near future Judy plans on switching to copper plates to become more eco-friendly, even though it will take ten times longer to produce a work of art.
