ELISABETH CONDON
My paintings translate watercolor’s fluidity and translucency at scale and at Oehme Graphics, using watercolor plates proved equally liberating. Adding ghost prints, templates, and hand painting to my vocabulary of pour and pattern complicated it in interesting ways, compressing layers of color and mark so that free-form pours became flowers within networks of lattice and even human presences. I also made an adjacent series of large monotypes, pouring only, to invoke sensory landscapes.
