In 2013 I had an opportunity to work with Sue Oehme and her extraordinary team at Oehme Graphics.
As a painter with almost no experience at printmaking I had trepidations about working in a complex medium so unfamiliar to me. Further, as a solitary worker, collaboration was uncharted territory.
The time at Oehme Graphics turned all those preconceived notions upside down.
The fluidity with which ideas turned into images, material obstacles melted
into myriad options and one thrilling image after another rolled out of the press was astounding to me.
Molding light and value relationships is a central object in my art, and Sue and I were able to work together to translate this elusive content from paint to ink and paper. I am very pleased with the work we produced and grateful for the occasion to learn about the rich and fascination world of printmaking.
