Susan Hover Oehme received her BFA in printmaking and painting from the University of Michigan, School of Art in Ann Arbor. She has been a life-long artist and won several grants early in her career, including a best-of-show for a 10 foot long lithograph, that enabled her to purchase her first printing press, which she then dragged around the country for twenty-odd years…Before launching Oehme Graphics in 2010, she held the title of Director/Vice President of Riverhouse Editions in Steamboat Springs, CO from 1996 through 2010.
As master printer, she has collaborated with such artists as Linda Mieko Allen, Lynda Benglis, Richard Bosman, Katherine Bowling, Stanley Boxer, Jack Cowin, Joseph Egan, Louise Fishman, Susan Hambleton, Jene Highstein, Monroe Hodder, Jeffrey Keith, Grace Knowlton, Patsy Krebs, Anna Kunz, Judy Ledgerwood, Winston Roeth, Jason Rohlf, Michael Rouillard, David Row, Arlene Shechet, Amy Sillman, Peter Sullivan, Fred Tomaselli, John Walker, Mia Westerlund Roosen, and Terri Zupanc. Prior to moving to Colorado, she lived in New York City for 15 years, working first as a waitress at the Noho Star Restaurant, and later at Watanabe Studio with Sol LeWitt and then at Tyler Graphics, LLC in Mount Kisco printing for Frank Stella, Joan Mitchell, John Newman, Masami Teraoka and Helen Frankenthaler, among others.
She also worked as a freelance printer at many small print studios in the city, and owned her own print studio, Susan Hover Editions from 1990 through 1994. She has taught numerous printmaking workshops at Denver University, Northwestern University, Brandeis University, The Women’s Studio Workshop, Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory, Kozo Art Materials, and Colorado Mountain College. Ms. Oehme lives in Steamboat with her husband, Randy, and their son, two dogs and one fat cat. She works in her painting studio at her home, and also likes to ride her mountain bike and practice yoga.
Julia is the studio manager and printer at Oehme Graphics. Julia was an Art Studio major at CC, and had spent her Senior year learning (and falling in love with) the printmaking process. Julia met Sue back in 2009 after graduating from Colorado College and coming to Steamboat to intern for Riverhouse Editions. She worked for two months at the shop learning the ins and outs of edition printmaking. Julia came back out to Steamboat in 2010 after a stint on an artisan goat cheese farm in southwestern Vermont to help Sue start up Oehme Graphics. She has been working and loving the shop and Steamboat ever since!

Stacia owns Bookkeeping 4 Balance through which she proudly serves Oehme Graphics in many QuickBooks, accounting and administrative tasks. This self-proclaimed “Mermaid in the Mountains” is most grateful for this opportunity to work with Oehme Graphics, among such talent and hard work. Her balance is achieved by trips to warm oceans, wandering the surrounding forests, and spreading Aloha.
